Abstract

The Annual Conference is a vital educational event that emphasizes the need for ongoing professional development, particularly in the context of significant technological advancements and socio-economic influences on the healthcare profession. This year's theme, "Libraries and the Nation's Health," focuses on the government's plan to enhance health facilities in Nigeria and the importance of involving everyone in healthcare delivery. The paper outlines the necessity of health literature services and highlights complex factors affecting basic human needs, using the analogy of accessing water to illustrate the multi-faceted nature of health care. It concludes by stressing the value of organized information exchange, as a lack of essential information can result in resource wastage and even loss of life.
