About the Journal

  • Nigerbiblios is the official journal of the National Library of Nigeria (NLN). The journal serves as a major platform for publishing high quality and original research in the field of Library and Information Profession and other related fields.
  • It is a peer-reviewed, bi-annual publication.

 History

  • Nigerbiblios has a long tradition, its maiden issue go far back to 1976 as the in-house journal of the National Library of Nigeria (known then as Nigerbiblios: House journal of the National Library of Nigeria aimed at documenting the institution’s activities/reports with contribution exclusively from the staff.) published in four issues of January, April, July and October.
  • By 1980, the NLN management resolved, based on its 1980 editorial (Volume 5, Nos. 1 & 2), to elevate Nigerbiblios to the status of a national communication journal. This decision was made to address a recognized gap in the field and to encourage greater scholarly writing and communication, thereby increasing international access to Nigerian librarianship. Onwards, under the simplified title Nigerbiblios, the publication became a professional journal dedicated to documenting and reporting developments in librarianship and information science in Nigeria and beyond
Focus & Scope
The journal accepts articles in the fields of:
    • Library & Information Science (LIS)
