Abstract

Information is now the critical resource for development, making the book industry a vital economic sector in Nigeria. To participate in global information activities, Nigeria must aggressively develop its local book industry, which faces severe shortages that threaten national development. This paper contends that with coordinated efforts among industry professionals and governmental support, Nigeria can enhance its book production and sustain its growth, thereby fostering national progress in economic, educational, and technological areas.
