Abstract

Nigeria's Medical Library system, established in 1947, has grown to thirteen, but lacks a formal Interlibrary Cooperation policy due to issues like outdated collections, funding, equipment, transportation, and uncooperative librarians. The author proposes establishing a Committee on Interlibrary Cooperation by the newly formed Medical Group of the Nigerian Library Association to improve interaction among medical libraries and benefit West Africa and other developing countries.
