Abstract
The Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization, established by Act No. 69 of 1979, is a multi-dimensional documentation institution that serves as a custodian of cultural materials for Black and African peoples worldwide. It has acquired unique archival, library, audio-visual, and museum materials from the fifty-nine Black and African Governments participating in Festac '77. The Centre's objectives include conducting induction courses, publishing African culture textbooks, conducting bibliographical research, holding symposiums and lectures, and establishing archives of Black and African mus
